P.table help !

Post by laiho0000 »

for given elements or compounds, what's the theory to follow to choose the element that :

1/ has the highest or lowest boiling point
2/ is the most active metal/nonmetal
3/ has properties which are most similar to those of an atom X
4/ can form more than one binary compound with an atom X
5/ has highest or lowest first ionization energy
6/ has highest or lowest second ionization energy
7/ has highest or lowest third ionization energy
8/ its ion would have the smallest/biggest radius
9/ would form a colored ion in a solution
10/ has an ionic radius larger than its atomic radius
11/ will have the most vigorous reaction with water
12/ is the best reducing agent
13/ would form a compound whose water solution is colored

14: How can we predict the products of a reaction ? for example : adding dilute sulfuric acid to iron sulfide and heating

15: for an aqueous solution containing a specified ion, how can we know the most suitable reagent to precipitate that ion

Any help or links would be highly appreciated
