Formaldehyd is a very poisson and carcinogen chemical and under normal conditions a gas. What can be bought is a 28-32% solution in water.
It is not appropriate to make this by yourself.
It can be found by melting of formaldehyderesin.

You need to be careful if you try to extract formaldehyde yourself, perhaps even unskilled, especially from household products. Household products should not contain formaldehyde according to legislation in different countries around the world.
It is a highly toxic and therefore a dangerous substance. It is a human carcinogen and exposure to even small concentrations can cause severe respiratory problems, skin irritation and long-term effects linked to cancer.

Formaldehyde can be found in household materials such as paint, furniture, plywood, or deodorizing products. However, synthesizing or extracting formaldehyde at home is very dangerous and can lead to exposure to toxic gases.
