What is the mechanism of humate binder

Post by easypeasyac »

Hello;
Some briquatte coal makers use humates for binding coal powders. How humates binds coal particles? What is the mechanism of it? Can humates be use any other materials for binding as glue?

Hello!

Humates bind coal particles by adsorbing onto their surfaces, increasing viscosity in a water mixture, and forming hydrogen bonds. They also enhance cohesion between particles. Additionally, humates can bind biomass pellets and improve soil amendments.

Humates bind coal particles through their organic compounds, which form bonds with the coal and create a cohesive layer. When mixed with water, they act as a natural adhesive, holding the particles together during briquette formation. Humates can also be used to bind other materials, like soil or biomass, due to their glue-like properties.
