I need help in telling what element is more oxidized
For example:
-tin in either Sn(+2) ion or Sn(+4)
-Chlorine in either ClO3(-) ion or Cl(-) ion

Re: Oxidation
what element is more oxidized
-tin in either Sn(+2) ion or Sn(+4)
Sn(+4) is more oxidize since it has lost 4 electrons
-Chlorine in either ClO3(-) ion or Cl(-) ion
Cl in ClO3(-) has formal charge of +5 and thus is more oxidized than Cl-.
