Magic Tree

Post by vahidmoghadas »

Hi Every One.
I have been trying to mimic the magic tree diy kit. you can see the typical on youtube if you search for magic tree diy.
basically it is a saturated salt solution and a piece of carboard. it uses capillary action and evaporation to grow crystals on a carboard designed like a tree.
i have done some research and the conclusion was that the fluid is either Potassium Monophosphate or it is Potassium monophosphate plus Ammoniums monophosphate.
I tried multiple time but it failed. it creates dense crystal rather than fluffy snow like crystal.
i used different carboard and papers. but the result was always dense crystal. I changed the source of potassium monophosphate and ammonium phosphate but the result stayed the same.
dose any one have any idea about it?
