Post by Emma »

Hi

I wondered if anyone can help me, i have been given this to make: Ba(HC2O4)2 this is the salt form of Barium Oxalate, but i cannot find a balanced equation or a method of making it, i know that i need Barium and Oxalic acid, i also know that this is not the usual formula that is Barium Oxalate as it is commonly BaC2O4 but i HAVE to make the formula given to me, can anyone help on how to make this safely and ith a balanced equation please as i am struggling?

Hello,

2H2C2O4 (excess) + Ba(OH)2 = Ba(HC2O4)2 (Barium Hydrooxalate, acid salt) + 2H2O

Best, Viktoriya
