PEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

Post by keyes »

ok, so i can't figure out this equation:
Lead (IV) Nitrate + Potassium Hydroxide

I got:

Pb(NO3)4 + KOH --> Pb(OH)4 + KNO3

It's a double displacement/replacement reaction.
Can someone please attempt to balance this?
I have been trying to do this for an hour already and I'm really mad.

HUGE THANKS TO WHOEVER CAN FIGURE IT OUT :D

That reaction can be easily balance by adding 4 to every K. At the same time it's incorrect anyway because Pb(OH)4 doesn't exist. It dehydrates into PbO2 instantly, so the correct reaction is
Pb(NO3)4 + KOH --> PbO2 + KNO3 + H2O

Go ahead and balance it.
Remember safety first! Check MSDS and consult with professionals before performing risky experiments.
