Need someone to Check equation Read More...

Post by HeyThere »

Hello.

In a lab, I'm required to heat a mixture of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). However, the sodium carbonate doesn't go in a chemical reaction. Yet, the sodium bicarbonate decompose into sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide, and water.

Therefore, is the equation below is right?

2NaHCO3 = Na2CO3 + CO2 + H2O

Code: Select all

2NaHCO3 = Na2CO3 + CO2 + H2O
