Cannot balance this equation

Post by scuba2 »

I was trying to balance this equation from my homework:
H2SO4 + Zn = ZnSO4 + H2O
Balancer tells 'an imposible reaction'.
Does anybody know why? and what am I doing wrong?

It's indeed an imposible reaction.
There should be H2 instead of H2O:
H2SO4 + Zn = ZnSO4 + H2

It certaintly is. Perhaps one of the options in the homework is "impossible to balance"?

Oh right, our teacher tricked us to try to balance it.
Cannot be balanced is the answer!
Thanks
