It also depends on what is C6H8O6?
Do you know it's structure/name?

Ascorbic acid is an organic acid with antioxidant properties. Its appearance is white to light yellow crystals or powder. It is water soluble. The L-enantiomer of ascorbic acid is commonly known as vitamin C.
Ok, then C6H6O6 is dehydroascorbic acid, so the environment is acidic.

I would suggest an ionic equation like that:

2 MnO4- + 5 C6H8O6 + 6 H+ = 5 C6H6O6 + 2 Mn2+ + 8 H2O
