Acid sulfuric

"Let s assume the pH, as with most municipal tap waters, is
approximately 8 or 9. Begin adding 95% H2SO4 one drop at a time,
mixing thoroughly, and measuring the pH with the pH meter or the
range 5.0-6.5 pH papers between each drop until the pH is about 5.8
or 6.0."
I'm not sure if i read that the sulfuric acid has to be clear, or not.
I bought one bottle at home depot, virgin sulfuric acid. It's not clear, kind of rusty brownish.
Can this be ok to use to lower the PH?
Thank you.
