energy required to convert ethanol to ethylene in an industr
Fora project I am involved with at work, I am trying to establish the energy required to convert ethanol to ethylene in an industrial process. As I lack an industrial data I am trying to calculate this from first principals. I have made a calculation using bond energies but this will only give me the minimum energy input required so am also trying to work out energy inputs assuming ethanol is dehydrated by conc sulphuric acid at 170 degrees celcius. The main problem at the moment is finding a definitive value of the heat of solution of sulphuric acid with a reference I can quote. I would be grateful for any ideas.
