Equilibrio quimico-Fisico quimica

Post by micab »

I need help with this problem plss.
A mixture of CoO (s) + Fe3O4 (s) is processed in an oven at 800C to produce cobalt. Faith must be retained as Fe3O4 (s). The gas available for reduction contains 22.4% CO, 34.6% CO2, 43% N2. It can be assumed that the gas left by the oven is in equilibrium with solids at the pressure of 1atm. Determine if the reducing gas mixture is possible to produce cobalt. and the composition of the gases at the exit of the oven.

How do I propose the complete reaction of this exercise?

First I dont think that only cobalt will be reduced, Iron also will be obtained.. The only reducer is CO.

CoO + CO => Co + CO2
Fe3O4 +4 CO => 3 Fe + 4 CO2
