Material and heat balance (ferromolybdenum reaction)

Post by imanrp »

Hello;

Would you please guide me on how I can do the material balance and heat balance for the following reaction(Ferromolybdnum manufacturing technology):
I have difficulty as I do not know about the products. Is there any way to find what is the product of the following reactants.

MoO3 (1000kg) + Al (165kg) + FeSi (190kg) + Fe2O3 (50 ~ 70kg) + steel plate (235kg) (Basic reaction) = ..... + Slag

Slag) SiO2: 49.5% + Al2O3: 31.2% + FeO: 13% + Others (Basic Slag)

Thank you.

The question is which alloy will be produced. MoFe or something else.

The oxides will be reduced by the aluminium, like Thermit reaction.

Convert everything to moles. Check what is more or less.
