In trouble here, help!!

Post by journeyseeker »

Hi - I cannot find the other half of this equation - I'm studying chem over again after a brain tumour wiped half, so maybe I'm just missing something. Can anyone help with this?

C6H4CHO-2-OH + C2H4(NH2)2 = C16H16N2O2 and maybe something else, it was just a straight crystallisation of the ligand, prior to producing a complex.

Any help gratefully received

I think this will guide to a double imine.

Basic reaction RCHO + H2N-R' => R-CH=N-R'+ H2O

HO-2-C6H4CH=N-C2H4-N=CH-C6H4-2-OH
