Sodium Peroxoborate Qualitative Tests

Post by Rosin »

I'm trying to figure out the equations for the reaction of sodium peroxoborate dissolved in water with H2SO4 and KMnO4. I am completely stumped and can't find anything online to even push me in the right direection

The Peroxoperborate decompose first by releasing Hydrogenperoxide.

Na2B2(O2)2(OH)4·6 H2O + H2SO4 => Na2SO4 + 2 H3BO3 + 2 H2O2 + 4 H2O

The basic redoxreaction is between Peroxide and Permanganate.

Please try to develop this redoxreaction.

!!!! Hydrogenperoxide works as a reducer, because Permanganate is more stronger oxidation agent.
