I observe that chert (SiO2(OH)) has been replaced by sericite (KAl2(AlSi3O10)(OH)2), The agent or medium that contains the chemical elements that drive the reaction apparently contain K and Al and also contains Fe. The medium was apparently very hot and melted the chert for the reaction. What is a plausible balanced formular that could produce sericite from chert?.

I think you can mix Chert with aluminium oxide and potassium hydroxide.

2 KOH + 3 Al2O3 + 6 SiO2 + H2O => 2 KAl2(AlSi3O10)(OH)2
