synthesis of hydroxyapatite

Goodday!!
Currently, I' ve seen on this site that it is
2 Na2HPO4 + 3 CaCl2 = Ca3(PO4)2 + 4 NaCl + 2 HCl.
I was wondering if (a) I use Na2HPO4.2H2O (dihydrate Na2HPO4) how the stoichiometry would be
and (b) in hydrated compounds as the above, does the H2O part play any role in the way each corresponding reaction is carried on? or do we just ignore the H2O molecules?
