No you have to consider Chromium is 3+ and Strontium is 2+.

So your edukts are correct.

But the products formulas are wrong.

So how does Chromiumiodide and strontiumsulfate looks like.

How would we balance an oxidation equation for lead?

You didnt say in which condition you have the lead. For example as metall it can be oxidiesed.

Code: Select all

Pb => Pb 2+ + 2 e-

Code: Select all

O2 + 4 e-=> 2 O 2-
In addition and balancing you will have

Code: Select all

2 Pb + O2 => 2 PbO
In an car battery you have

Code: Select all

2 Pb 2+ => Pb + Pb 4+
for charging
discharging its the opposit.

Code: Select all

Pb 4+ + Pb => 2 Pb 2+

Ah, sorry!

What would the balanced oxidation equation for lead with the lead ion having a charge of +2 be? Also what would the balanced reduction equation for gold be with the gold ion having a charge of +3?

You can see it already in my post above Lead change from 2 to 4. Gold I guess will go down to zero.
This should be easy to develop.
