-N-N=O groups in PAH

Post by Gurongax »

Hi there,
During smoking, i'm aware that a group of -N-N=O with two radicals will be released, my question is what is this group called, and what exactly is it that makes it poisenous, since it's the head particle in killing 400.000 smokers every year?
