NiS + 2 NaCl = ... does not proceed in aqueous solution because the NiS is insoluble.

Indeed, these are the products of the precipitation reaction: NiCl2(aq) + Na2S(aq) = NiS(s) + 2 NaCl(aq)

If you have chemistry student, then you have to learn Ap chemistry review book. It is easy to study and refer. This book gives you easy examples with easy. Understanding language. Ap chemistry test preparation book gives you last exams paper solution. So, you can easily suggest and get idea which type of question comes in exam.
