Hi
Hoping someone can help.
There is a particular kit available to measure so2 in wine samples, however they won't give the concentrations of the reagents so you have to purchase from them.
Is there a way to figure it out based on the following reaction and procedure?
IO3 - + 5I- + 6H+ >3I2 + 3H2O generation of iodine from iodate
SO2 + I2 + H2O > 2I-
+ SO3 + 2H+ reaction of SO2 and iodine
SO2 titrant which is iodine 0.0156N
2ml acid reagent (h2so4)
2ml reactant solution (starch indicator)
ppm SO2 = (64 * V * N * 1000) /2s where v = volume titrant and n = normality of titrant and s = ml sample
ppm SO2 = 20 * V
