why it is a problem to precipitate S in Hg solution

Post by kk »

From an analytical point of view, why would we not want to remove the problem of the H2S by using a precipitation reaction (such as adding lead to precipitate
the sulfide)? Note that we are only concerned with the analytical side of mercury analysis; do not discuss environmental impact.
