Precipitation Reaction

I need to write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction between:

BaCl2(aq) and KOH(aq)

Please help! Thank You!

Where are you having trouble with this?

First, determine the products. They're obviously going to be Barium hydroxide and Potassium chloride.

Next determine the precipitate. KCl is quite soluble, and a quick check determines that Baryta is not so much.

_ BaCl2(aq) + _ KOH(aq) = _ Ba(OH)2(s) + _ KCl(aq)
Finally you balance them. Balance the count of Chlorine on both sides, then Hydroxide too.

Balance Cl:

a BaCl2(aq) + _ KOH(aq) = _ Ba(OH)2(s) + 2a KCl(aq)
Balance OH:

a BaCl2(aq) + 2b KOH(aq) = b Ba(OH)2(s) + 2a KCl(aq)
Balance Ba, K determines that a=b. For a least integer solution, a=1.

Thank you for your help. I was having trouble balancing the two. I think I was making it more difficult than it really was.
