why polonium has bigger atomic radius?

Post by appelsinbla »

Generally, the atomic radii decrease across the period. But the atomic radii values of Bi (160pm) and Po (190 pm) indicate a deviation from the trend. The Po has a bigger atomic radius value than Bi, whereas it should have a smaller one? Thanks.
