calculations

Post by jamie »

am I calculating this properly
I have a sediment digest, after digesting in acid the volume is made up to 25c.c. after analysis I have a result of 9 mg/25c.c., to calculate the amount in sediment sample.

9 x (25 divided by 1000) divided by my sample weight in gms = mg/gm

It's not easy to understand the problem from the given description, here is just a try:

If you know that you have 9 mg/25c.c than in 25c.c you have just 9 mg
Then the amount in the sediment sample in mg/gm will be 9 / sample weight in gm

It's really strange thought: why mg/gm?
