Post by Frith 08 »

Hello all

There is one equation that I can't balance.

Na2O+H2O=2NaOH+O2

Thank you

This one is impossible to balance.

You probably have Na2O2 instead of Na2O:

Code: Select all

2 Na2O2 + 2 H2O = 4 NaOH + O2
Hope this helps.

the true equation is :

Code: Select all

Na2O + H2O = 2NaOH

the first , Na2O2 + H2O = Na2O2.8H2O , that reation make much heat :D then Na2O2.8H2O is hydrolyzed make NaOH and O2

but at lower temperature , the reaction happen :

Code: Select all

Na2O2 + 2H2O = 2NaOH + H2O2
