Thermal decomposition

Post by lorez »

Thermal decompostion of potassium percholrate decoposes into potassium chloride and oxygen gas.

Help me to calculate the # of mole of O, and grams of KCL generated by decomposing 100g potassium perchlorate.

Formula: KClO4 = KCl + 2O2

100g KClO4 = ~0.721761 mol KClO4

- there are 1.4435 mol O2 produced and 53.18g KCl (.721761 x 74.55g)

Hope that helped
