Ancient newbie seeks advice

Post by deltabravo »

Hello all, I am an old retired mechanical engineer who electroplates copper for a hobby. I am considering other plating materials, i.e. chrome zinc, nickel etc. I know that some of the chemicals used are hazardous, so I would appreciate any help you may be able to offer me concerning their neutralization if spilt, or when disposed of. I only know from experience, that baking soda/bicarbonate of soda will kill sulphuric acid, any other help would be much appreciated, many thanks, kind regards, Bob.

I suggest you to look up MSDS sheets for all these compounds.
You can start the search here: MSDS sheets
