balancing!

Post by chem1 »

hi i am trying to balance this equation... it contains a hydrate: Complete and balance the chemical equation for the addition of Strontium (II) Nitrate to Potassium Iodate to form Strontium (II) Iodate Monohydrate.
so I think it would look something like this:
Sr(NO3)2 + 2KIO3--> 2KNO3+ Sr(IO3)2*H2O
but i dont know how to balance the H2O part because there is no H2O on the reactants side
please help!
