How to balance the chemical equation? help

Post by fqhawang »

Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 + SiO2 = Al6Si2O13 + CaSiO3 + CaAl4O7
Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 + SiO2 = ?
Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 = ?
Al2Si2O7 + SiO2 = ?

Reaction of metakaolin with carbonate and silicon dioxide during sintering = mullite, wollastonite and grossite

The answer:
3Al2O3.2SiO2 + CaCO3 + SiO2 = Al6Si2O13 + CaSiO3 + CO2
5Al2O3.2SiO2 + CaCO3 = Al6Si2O13 + CaAl4O7 + CO2

The reactions you described include the formation of new compounds through the combining of existing ones. For every reaction, these balanced chemical equations apply:

1. Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 + SiO2 = Al6Si2O13 + CaSiO3 + CaAl4O7

2. Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 = Al6Si2O13 + CaSiO3

3. Al2Si2O7 + SiO2 = Al6Si2O13

Oxidation CH3CH2OH + H2O => CH3CHO + 4 H+ + 4 e-
Reduction Cr2O7 2- + 14 H+ + 6 e- => 2 Cr 3+ + 7 H2O

Al2Si2O7 + CaCO3 = ?
This reaction likely forms some combination of the compounds mullite, wollastonite, and grossite. However, the exact products formed would depend on the specific conditions of the reaction, such as temperature,incredibox pressure, and the presence of any catalysts.

Al2Si2O7 + SiO2 = ?
This reaction may also produce some combination of mullite, depending on the specific conditions. Again, the exact products formed would depend on the reaction conditions.

The formula is really diverse with your answers. I like the website because there are many chemical equations I can balance and solve.
