Micahel addition on amines containing thiols

Hello!
I am an unholy biologist attempting to do some simple chemistry for the first time in my life. I wanted to make a library of chemical compounds by doing a michael addition of an acrylate onto some primary and secondary amines. Problem is all my amines also have thiols that I dont want to be involved in the reaction. Is it necessary to protect the thiols or can I just use the disulfide bonded version of the compounds to avoid having to protect them?

Disulfide bonds are very weak, they break easily. I think you have to protest them.
