1)A gold block has a mass of 0.630 kg and is initially at a temperature of 15.4℃. How much energy must be transferred to the block as heat for it to reach a final temperature of 49.3℃? Use \(c_{gold }=452 J/kg•K \)for the specific heat value of gold.

a) 4,390 J
b) 14,000 J
c)-14,000 J
d)-9,650 J
e) 9,650 J
f)-4,390 J

My answer is (e).

2)"Coffee cup" calorimeters produce less accurate energy values compared to a "bomb" calorimeter because

a)"Coffee cup" calorimeters do not operate at a constant pressure
b)"Coffee cup" calorimeters allow more heat exchange with their surroundings
c)"Coffee cup" calorimeters do not operate at a constant volume

My answer is (b).

3) Heat capacity depends on which of the following? Select all that apply

a)The kind of substance absorbing or releasing heat
b)The temperature of the substance absorbing or releasing heat
c)The conductivity of the substance absorbing or releasing heat.
d)The heat capacity of the substance absorbing or releasing heat.
e)The amount of substance absorbing or releasing heat

My answer is a), b), e). Is this correct?

4)Heat capacity is ________property.
a)Intensive
b)Extensive

My answer is (b).

You changed the question after I answered. The answer refered to the first 2 questions. I meant 1 and to 2 are correct.

Then only 3a is correct

And 4 b
