I got 2C2H2(g) + 5O2(g) → 4CO2(g) + 2H2O for a Acetylene Oxygen Combustion.
A ratio of 2 parts Acetylene and 5 parts Oxygen.
I am trying to calculate the reaction if I am using Air .
I know Air has Nitrogen, Oxygen and other gases. Do I have to factor in the other gases?
Thank you for any help.

Re: Balancing Acetylene Combustion
Air contains 21% O2.
But the equation is the same. You need about 5 times more air as 100% oxygen.
