Balance Equation

Post by Mathias1234 »

Hyy i hope you are doing well
I spend hours thinking about how am I supposed to balance this equation by doing 1/2 ox red equation but both of them are oxydation reaction
Here's the equation

CuI2 + 4 Ce(SO4)32- + 4 Cl- = Cu2+ + 2 ICl2- + 4 Ce3+ + 12 SO42-

Please I really need ur help
Regards

First CuI2 is not existing. Only CuI is existing.

But nevertheless skip all spectator ions.

Oxidation is I- + 2 Cl- => ICl2- + e-
Reductiun is Ce 4+ + e- => Ce 3+
