help 2

Post by Laila Camila »

A laboratory received a sample of potassium chloride suspected of containing impurities. To analyze the degree of purity of the sample, we proceeded as follows:
0.2500 g of the crude KCl sample was taken, an excess of an AgNO3 solution was added which resulted in the formation of 0.2817 g of AgCl.

Calculate the percentage of KCl in the impure sample.
Ag + (aq) + Cl- (aq) AgCl (s)

Convert the AgCl to mol , read the mol of KCl and convert back to mass of KCl.

Compare the with crued product.
