pH reactions problems

Post by Dhamnekar Winod »

Complete the following equations and tell whether K>1 or K<1 or K=1.

a. BaCl2 + Na2CO3

b. CaCl2 + Fe(NO3)2

c. CH3COOH + SO4⁻²→

d. H2SO3 + NH3

e. H2O + H3O⁺ →

f. ZnCO3 + Cd(NO3)2

How to complete these equations and tell whether K>1, K<1, K=1?

My answers:-

I completed these equations as follows:

a. BaCl2 + Na2CO3 → BaCO3 + 2NaCl.

b.CaCl2 + Fe(NO3)2 → Ca(NO3)2 + Fe(II)Cl2.

c.CH3COOH + SO4⁻² → H2SO4 + CH2O + CO.

d. H2SO3 + 2NH3 → 2NH4 + SO3.

e. I don't know how to complete this reaction.

f. ZnCO3 + Cd(NO3)2 → Zn(NO3)2 + CdCO3.

Now, how to find K for these reactions?
Any science consists of the following process. 1) See 2)Hear 3)Smell,if needed 4)Taste, if needed 5)Think 6)Understand 7)Inference 8)Take decision [Believe or disbelieve, useful or useless, true or false, cause or effect, any other criteria]

A ok
b get a soup of ions,
c wrong, sulfate is a base
d charges missing
e H5O2+
f check soloubilities
Better write ionic equations generally.

K>1 or K<1 depend which side is precipitation.
