NaCi and KCi both are salt? what is the differentiation of salt?
Sorry, I am new to Chemistry, after reading more and seem there are many different ways to produce salt, so I am a bit confuse. May I ask what is the differentiation of salt? Is salt just a name of a compound in human life? If anything taste salty will just call salt? Table salt is made by Sodium Chloride, but Potassium in the periodic table group 1 can also bond with Chlorine to form KCl also call salt. However Silver Oxide can also produce salt that should not be eaten.

Salt is a generell name. Compounds made with a metal cation and an acid rest as negative anion are called salts.
