Hi, I am doing a school project and have chosen to make Sodium polyacrylate. I know that I can use acrylic acid and Na(OH) but I don't know the quantities or method. Google isn't to much help... I hope someone can help :)

I dont believe you. In the Internet a lot of literature is found.

In principle you have acrylic acid or the salt in a solvent, water, alcohol,THF,etc. And add a starter Peroxydisulfate, dibenzoylperoxide, ascorbic acid with hydrogen peroxide,

I think I have found a way to do it. Somewhere it said if you just mix acrylic acid and Na(OH) you will get water and sodium polyacrylate.

C3H4O2+NaOH→CH2CH(CO2 Na)+H2O

what do you think?

btw thanks for your response :) I am a Danish student and I didn't know what to search for other than "how to make sodium polyacrylate" and that just gave me a ton of websites that told me to buy diapers and get the material from them.

This what you like to do is only to make sodium acrylat, Not sodiumpolyacrylat.
To look in Google, needs to feed the right key words.

Synthesis, polyacrylate, sodium salt,
