Glucose to Glucose pentaacetate

Post by sufferinginochem »

Hi! In ochem lab I'm reacting glucose with acetic anhydride to produce glucose pentaacetate and acetic acid. I can't balance the equation for the life of me, any help is appreciated!

C6H12O6 + C4H6O3 = C16H22O11 + C2H4O2

C6H12O6 + 5 (CH3CO)2O = C16H22O11 + 5 CH3COOH
