two steps electrolysis

Post by kenterprise »

A system comprised of a water H2O ionizer may provide the OH(-) ions rich fluid for an electrolytic cell.
U = voltage

2H2O+ U = H3O(+) + OH(-)

I need help to understand what happen if Hydroxide ion OH(-) solution is subjected to electrolysis.
It is possible the produce electrolytic H2 with low current using the electron of Hydroxide ion and converting it into O2 ?

2OH(-) + U = H2+O2
