GABA and the stomach!

Hello everybody, this is not a "school" question, but instead one of curiosity. GABA, or Gamma-Aminobutyric_acid, is a neurotransmitter, and as such, begs the question "can it even be absorbed through the blood-brain barrier?" GABA has been linked to several of the modern day's mental "diseases," including Depression, ADD, etc.

So while I look into the Gastrointestinal barrier, I'd like whoever would like to, take a shot at what products we could expect from this reaction (GABA + Gastric Acid).
