Calcium Hydroxide dissolving in water- balanced eqn

Post by Honkytonk »

I'm now real sure how to balance this equation, so I thought I would give it a shot and see what everyone said. I'm supposed to give the phases for all reactants and products:

Is this it?

Ca(OH)2 + H20 = Ca + OH + H2O

Or this?

Ca(OH)2 + H2O = Ca + H20

Or am I wrong?

Thank you....
