Titrating alanine?

In basic solution (pH >~9.5), the carboxyl group of the amino acid will deprotonate, attracting the metal cation to form an organic salt solution.

CH3CH(NH2)COOH (aq) + NaOH (aq) =(OH-)=> CH3CH(NH2)COONa (aq) + H2O (l)

2-aminopropanoic acid (a.k.a. alanine) + sodium hydroxide = sodium 2-aminopropanoate + water.
