Re: Finding out pH of the solution
The chemical reaction is wrong. Its only a mixture of acetic acid and sodium acetate. There is no reaction. You forget the lightning on the right side. Leftside you have a negative charge what gives thunder storm on the right side. :mrgreen: On the other hand the calculation of pH is correct because...

How is the demineralzed water made. Maybe organic from manufacturing inside. Use destilled water instead. Add 1 ml HCl to get pH of 5 to 6.

Re: chemical reactions
Write down the mass action law for this reaction. K is not given here. This information is missing.
Convert all compounds to SI units. Calculate H2 and N2 to mole via density and molar mass.
Fill in the mass action law equation use x.

Re: pH determination problems
Used wrong formula H2SO3 is a middle strong acid. pKa1 is 1.8 pka2 is 7.
pH =( pk1 + pk2)/2
pH =(1.8 +7)/2 = 4.4
pH =( pk1 + pk2)/2
pH =(1.8 +7)/2 = 4.4

Re: please help me calculate stoichiometry
Yours is correct. Above they used broken numbers and also not very accurate i would say wrong calculation. Example 7.97 H2O never can come from 1.027 C12H22O11.
