But if vice versa, i. e. if we want to obtain CH2Cl–CHCl–COH from CH2OH–CHOH–COH?

I have asked this question in another place, they said that the answer is:
СÐ2Cl-CHCl-СОР+ 2Ð2О = CH2OH-CHOH-COH + 2ÐCl
But is seems incorrect to me.
