If K and Al are metals and not ions indeed, what is SO4 then?
Please get the right reaction first.
Two possibilities
1. K+ + Al3+ + 2 SO4- + 12 H2O = KAl(SO4)2*12H2O - no brainer
2. K + Al + 2 H2SO4 + 12 H2O = KAl(SO4)2*12H2O +2H2 - hydrogen released

2.225 g of Fe would be 2.225/55.85 = 0.0398 g-a, if 100% pure. It will produce 0.0398 mol of FeSO4 31.0 ml*0.0185 mol/1000 ml = 0.000573 mol K2Cr2O7 6FeSO4 + K2Cr2O7 + 7H2SO4 = 3Fe2(SO4)3 + Cr2(SO4)3 +K2SO4+7H2O So 0.000573 mol K2Cr2O7 should be enough o react with 0.000573 mol *6 = 0.00344 mol We e...

CuSO4 + KI= CuI+ I2+K2SO4 1. Draw the reaction in electron exchange form: Cu2+ +1e- --> Cu+ 2I- - 2e- --> I2(0) 2. Distribute coefficients, so the number of electrons accepted in the first equation is the same as donated in the second equation: Cu2+ +1e- --> Cu+ /2 - total of two electrons 2I- - 2e-...

Bill, Interesting, what is the reason for doing that. Any practical sense or just theoretical question? For example any phosphate mineral will contain water and carbon dioxide in some form. Heating should eliminate water and eventually CO2 from the rock and therefore increase relative content of P2O...

Zink would react with NH4Cl giving ammonia, ZnCl2 and hydrogen. Surface of zink dust is covered with ZnO and prevents it from reacting with nitrite. In any case, NH4Cl works as a surface cleaner. Obviously, hydrogen is not getting releazed when nitrite present. Instead frsh surface of zink getting i...
