Re: Help me balance this equation

olwap wrote:PCl5 + H2O = H2PO4 + HCl

How will i balance it using the online balancer?
There is no such compound as H2PO4.
It should be H3PO4 - phosphoric acid:
PCl5 + H2O = H3PO4 + HCl
(click on it to see balanced equation)

Re: Quick Help Plz

Hey guys. I put this equation in the balancer. But it didn't work. Could you help me out ASAP? H{+}+HgS+CI{-}+NO{3-} ----> HgCl4{2-}+S+NO+H2O First you have enetered Cl as C(carbon) and l(iodine), and the second is that you most probably want NO3{-} instead of NO{3-}: H{+} + HgS + Cl{-} + NO3{-} = ...

Re: Balance ionic reaction

I am trying to balance the following ionic reaction but nothing works, either the atoms don't balance or the charges on both sides of the reaction don't balance. Can you please show me the steps how to balance it. The charges are in curly brackets. IO3{-}(aq) + I{-}(aq) = I3{-} (aq) I first balance...

Strontium acetate thermal decomposition:
Sr(CH3COO)2 = SrCO3 + (CH3)2CO

Zinc acetate thermal decomposition:
Zn(CH3COO)2 = ZnO + CO2 + (CH3)2CO

need a 500 g of a 5% HCl solution, a 37% by mass of HCl stock solution will be used to prepare.
Help
m(HCl) = 500 g * 5% /100%

m(37% HCl) = m(HCl) / 37% * 100% = 500 g * 5 % / 37 %

The problem is this: The heat of formation of ethanol, C2H5OH, is -227.0 kJ/mol at 298.15 K. Calculate the heat of combustion of one mole of ethanol, assuming that the products are CO2 and H2O. My issue is that I can't seem to balance the chemical equation! I put it in the balancer on this site and...

Re: help with balancing this equation!!

Hi! can someone PLEASE help me balance this equations!! its been boggling my mind!! (NH4)2C2O4+H+NO3 -> CI2+NO2+N2O+H2O This is equation is not correct since you have Cl2(?) among products, and do not have it in reagents. If you've meant CO2 instead of CI2: (NH4)2C2O4 + 4 HNO3 = 2 CO2 + 2 N2O + 2 N...

Balancer tells 'an imposible reaction'.
Does anybody know why? and what am I doing wrong?
It's indeed an imposible reaction.
There should be H2 instead of H2O:
H2SO4 + Zn = ZnSO4 + H2
