Chemical shyt

Post by watthefaak »

As Chlorine gets easily dissolved in water when mixed with water so it has a possibility of causing harmful effect on the environment as well to the living beings if more than the required amount of chlorine is present i.e. a minimum of 0.1 milligrams per litre (mg/L) free chlorine residual or 0.5 mg/L of total chlorine residual is required at all times. Moreover Chlorine affects the human health depending upon the amount of chlorine that is present, the frequency and the length of the exposure. Once the chlorine is in the water, it gets reacted with the other inorganic and organic chemicals in it. Eventually it reacts with inorganic material like antimony, arsenic, asbestos, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, fluoride, cyanide, thallium, etc in water to form chloride salts and with organic material such as benzene, acrylamide, carbon tetrachloride, chlorobenzene, vinyl chloride, xylenes, simazine, toxaphene, tetrachloroethylene, etc in water to form chlorinated organic chemicals. The presence of excessive chloride ions in water leads to its reaction with other chemicals and contaminants in water like and hence making it toxic. Thus the fishes in the water get contaminated as a result of the polluted water. The animal’s feed on the affected fishes and humans eats the contaminated fishes and animals leading to various widespread diseases like diarrhea, vomiting, cramps, increase in blood pressure, decrease in blood sugar, increased risk of developing cancer and benign intestinal polyps, liver or kidney damage, pneumonia, anemia, circulatory problems, hair loss, problems with blood, nervous or reproductive system etc. Chlorine gas is poisonous and harmful for the aquatic freshwater life.

All those are toxic regardless to the Chlorine.

All those are rather to be caused by reasons unrelated to the Chlorine.
