Calculation of volume of solution

Post by easypeasyac »

Hello;
If I mix;
100 ml water,
150 g 1,2-propanediol,
20 g copper sulfate pentahydrate
5 g disodium EDTA dihydrate

Does total volume of mixture 100+144.79+8.74+4.95= 258.48 ml?

Density of 1,2-propanediol 1.036 g/cm3
Density of copper sulfate pentahydrate 2.286 g/cm3
Density of disodium EDTA dihydrate 1.01 g/cm3

Is my calculation right?

Thank you.

No, volumina don't work additive. Keyword volume contraction.
